Rich oil and gas resources
The Yellow River Delta where DEDZ located is one of the largest river deltas with the richest nature resources in the world. The rich crude oil & natural gas resources are most famous. Underground here lays the large oil-reservoirs, the area of which is estimated to be more than 1600k㎡. The reserve of crude oil is 4 billion tons, and gas reserve amounts to 34 billion m³. In addition, extensive bittern resources lie underground with capability of 6 million tons of raw salt per year. The development of the salt & salt-chemical industry in DEDZ has a bright future.

Abundant land resources
Dongying has abundant land resources, of which 346,600 hectares are to be developed, and more land is being created by siltup of Yellow River every year. All these will turn Dongying into an area with the richest land resources and the largest potential to develop green industry in the coastal areas of east China.

Rich ocean resources
The coastal line of Dongying is 350 kilometers with a shallow sea shoal area of 120,000 hectare where enjoys great potential of aquiculture. The rich marine lives, 517 kinds of halobios and 194 kinds of tideland creatures bring the city a reputation of ”the land of fishes” and “the land of oriental prawns”. Chinese crabs, Bohai prawns and HuangheKou clams here enjoy great prestige both at home and broad.

Abundant agriculture and stockbreeding resources 
Dongying teeming with wheat, corn, bean as well as fruit and vegetable of temperate zone is the important green product base of Shandong. With 60,000 hectare of cotton land and 160,000 hectare of nature grass field, Dongying is the important cotton and pasturage base and enjoys bright future in textile and rag trade.

Rich fresh water resources
The part of Yellow River running through the entire city is about 138km. Now, there are already 95 reservoirs with more than 10000,000m³ volume and the capacity of 800 million m³, which secures a steady supply of fresh water for the city’s development.
